Things to Know about Financial Aid

Financial Eligibility or Financial Need
Generally, financial aid eligibility is determined by calculating the difference between the cost of attending college and what the student and/or the student's family are expected to contribute.

Types of Aid
Financial aid also exists in different types: grants, scholarships, loans, and employment.

How to Apply
Apply for admission to Shoreline Community College and be accepted into an eligible degree or certificate program. File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). These two steps can be done at the same time.

Award Letters
Students must have been awarded financial aid by SCC before it is available to pay tuition and fees or to calculate a check. Students will be mailed a Financial Aid Notification letter when financial aid eligibility is determined.
