SCC selects four candidates as finalists in its
Presidential Search Shoreline, WA — At a special
meeting of the Board of Trustees at Shoreline Community College on April 17th,
the BOT approved a list of four candidates to continue in the presidential
search process. They are: Randall C. Lawrence, vice president of instruction at
Olympic College; Mark Palek, Ed.D., president of Spokane Falls Community
College; G. Jeremiah Ryan, Ed.D., president emeritus, Raritan Valley Community
College; and William Scroggins, Ph.D., interim president, Modesto Junior
College. The search committee began its work in January and is
comprised of three students, five faculty, three administrators and staff, and
three community members from Shoreline and Lake Forest Park. Dr. Bob Barringer,
CEO of Gold Hill Associates, is assisting with the nationwide search process.
Barringer, who has participated in 16 presidential searches in the state of
Washington, was selected based on his experience and knowledge of the Washington
state community college system. The search committee has
developed a schedule for the interview process that includes dates at which
community members can attend and talk to the candidates. Those dates are
scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m., April 27, May 2, May 4 and May 9, 2006. The interview
dates and times are listed online at the College’s presidential search web site,
located at
http://www.shoreline.edu/PresSearch02.html. Please refer to
this site for more information. The College plans to have a new
president on board by July 1, 2006. Dr. Holly Moore, former president of SCC,
resigned in August of 2005. Since then, Lee Lambert, J.D., vice president of
Human Resources and Legal Affairs, has served as the interim president. —###— |
