I apologize for my
photo. My name is Andrew Ivanhoe, but my friends just call
me Ivanhoe. I spent many years working in a local video
store before deciding to pursue a career as a librarian.
Community engagement has always been important to me. You
have been fortunate this year to have an outstanding group
of students working on your behalf in the student
government. I love this college, its students, faculty and
staff very much, and I want to see great things from this
community for years to come. While at Shoreline, I have had
the opportunity to study abroad in Thailand, do community
service in a hurricane-ravaged New Orleans, write for an
award-winning student newspaper, and help draft a brand-new
student constitution and bill of rights. I could not have
done any of these things alone, and I want these
opportunities to be open to any student who wants them. If
you have any concerns or ideas for the campus, please come
to our office in the top floor of the PUB, and I encourage
you to apply for a position in the student government for
the 2008-09 school year.
