Financial Aid
Withdrawal and Repayment of Student Aid Funds
If a student receives financial aid, either by picking up a check
and/or by having tuition and fees paid by financial aid, they are
expected to complete the credits for which they were funded. If a
student withdraws or completes 0 credits they may have to repay a
portion of the aid they received. The amount of repayment is
determined by the federal “Return of Title IV Funds” requirements
and/or Shoreline’s Institutional Refund policy. The calculation
uses three (3) factors to determine the amount of the repayment; the
student’s date of official withdrawal or the last documented date of
attendance; the types and amounts of financial aid received; and the
quarterly tuition and fee amount.
If a student owes a
repayment they will be notified by the Financial Aid Office and/or
Shoreline’s Financial Services and Budget Office. Students owing a
repayment will not be eligible for financial aid, allowed to
register for classes, or obtain copies of their academic transcripts
until all funds have been repaid or satisfactory repayment
arrangements have been made.
